Some of Ed's favourite moments
-
This movie is a lot of fun.
It's a light-hearted romp with clever lines and good
character actors and a convenient ending in which
everyone is happy.
-
Greer has short black hair (Eeeeoooo!) and bad lipstick
(Eeeeoooo!) but otherwise
she looks great.
She's having almost as much fun here as she had had in
"Julia Misbehaves".
-
Michael Wilding might not look like much in the still
photos from this movie, but he's a wonderfully lovable
rogue and clever con-man, with a charming smile, a
sophisticated manner and a sharp wit.
He has great chemistry with Greer,
and of course his character is in love with her.
And Mr. Wilding even managed to snag Elizabeth Taylor
one year after this movie was made.
-
Greer repeats a line from "Random Harvest": "You trying
to get rid of me?"
-
When you think of Fernando Lamas, you probably remember
the way Billy Crystal parodied him mercilessly a number
of years ago. But Mr. Lamas is wonderfully charming and
rugged here, and Greer finds him a little bit
irresistible.
He even offers her a cattle ranch, which is something
that Buddy Fogelson had just given her a year or two
earlier in real life.
-
Greer's old pal Rhys Williams shows up at the beginning
and the end of the movie like a pair of bookends.
