Scandal at Scourie (1953)
Pictures!
Some of Ed's favourite moments
-
Her eighth and last movie with Walter Pidgeon.
-
This movie has 1950s B-movie production values.
Even a very goofy fish sound effect.
Oh well. MGM was falling apart by that time.
-
It's in colour, though.
-
Greer and Walter get a double bed finally.
-
Greer says a whole bunch of Canadian words, like
"province", "Ontario", "Winnipeg", "Prime Minister".
She even says "provincial legislature".
-
We get to see Greer brush her hair at great length. Not
the quick brush-up in "Mrs. Miniver" before seeing Lady
Beldon, but a good going-over.
-
Some of her old pals are in it:
Rhys Williams ("Miniver", "RH"),
Ian Wolfe ("RH", "Julia", others),
Arthur Shields ("RH", "Valley").
-
This really is a sweet and charming movie.
